About The Grasshobbler

The Grasshobbler is a cocktail, wine, and tapas bar in the heart of Leyburn, created and designed by Milly and Steve Bennett as a place to relax, enjoy good drinks, and spend time with good company. It’s designed to feel easy, welcoming, and somewhere you’ll want to return to.

Set within a historic building, it brings together character and atmosphere with a simple approach to doing things well from what’s on the table to how the space feels.

Once a former bank building, the space has been thoughtfully brought back to life while keeping its original character. What was once empty is now warm, welcoming, and full of atmosphere.

Care has been taken to preserve the details that make the building special, while shaping it into somewhere people can relax, enjoy themselves, and spend time together.

Situated right on Leyburn High Street, a few seconds from the market place and in the old HSBC bank, this restaurant/bar has been tastefully refurbished.

We went on a busy Friday market day in Leyburn for lunch. There was ourselves and two other tables occupied and people kept popping in to book tables for a later date. Which is great for a brand new business. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.
